Tiph, I have an idea for a character, but she would be someone whom the Bronze Devil rescued off of the streets of Chicago when she was around 16. She is now 23. No romance or anything like that, got the idea when I saw Devil's pic. Her name is Allie Jameson aka Flaming Angel. Since I would be kind of putting her in the Bronze Devil, I didn't want to do anything without your okay. So, is it okay? LOL

The Bronze Devil retired from the 'super-hero' business in 1991. But do they ever really retire? I don't think so.

Seven years ago eh? That would make it 2003, the year before the passing of the Riggs Act, things would have been crazy around that time. It would be the last time people would see truly free costumed heroes.

We could probably assume that Bronze Devil is still involved in the community, and would have been back then as well. Probably helps out at youth centres but he's really careful not to give police and RAID any excuses to bust him for violating the Riggs act. He's a Registered Meta-human so he has to keep his nose clean.

If you go on the premise that he was helping her through volunteer work at one of the local youth centres around Ukrainian Village it would work. The Devil doesn't stray too far from his neighborhood, unless he's working covertly.

He could have run into her during one of his covert heroic acts as well, but above all he protects his anonymity if such was the case.

The choice is yours.

Bronze Devil is kinda just your basic married guy now. I'm still working on his write up.

Tiph, is there anyway you could make a graphic for my new character, please.

Hmmmm... Windstorm seems no different than Toril. I guess no one can have a monopoly on elemental powers, since in fact there are only five (if you throw in electricity). In super hero stories they tend not to have too many characters with the same powers since everything gets a little redundant, but I assume that she must use winds in a different manner than Wraith does. Wraith is atmospheric and he manipulates air, throws jets of wind, can alter weather (in specific area), once a storm is generated he can produce a tornado or hurricane, etc.

Quite often when two writers have very similar characters one often ends up stealing the thunder of the other. It's just a fact. If things get a little too 'carbon copy', I'll pull Toril out of the story or have him go off into his own little scenario, but I'd rather not. Guess we'll see how it goes.

I'll whip up a graphic.

Sin perhaps Allie could control fire or heat instead of wind. I don't think we have a character that is fire based any longer. Perhaps have her be something like "The Flame" from the old Marvel comic books. Or maybe earth, to cause everything from mind tremmors to earth spliting cazems or even eathquakes. Just an idea you all know my wacking mind working overtime.

Thanks for the suggestions Lac. I am just not used to heroes having very similar powers, there are cross overs, for sure, but usually when people have the same powers they are usually enemies. In comic-book style scenarios they usually give similar powers to villains, like Venom and Spiderman, or Wolverine and Deathstrike (X-men 2).

There are also certain powers which are going to be similar, such as those people who can transform into things or 'moleculars' that can become non-corporeal, but I think it's best to be as unique as possible. The villain, Solar Storm, I created used solar-radiation as a power, so she's like a 'Fire' mutant, but she's basically a 'villain' and an NPC, so it's always cool to have a main character with similar powers to combat her. Battles between mutants with similar powers is fun.

Sin, I placed a graphic with your new character. If you decide to change her up, I can easily modify it to accommodate any new powers.

Other constants you always see among super heroes, is flight and super strength (that's why I tend to explain those abilities as being linked, as they both rely on the ability to manipulate gravitons). Those are just natural powers that people associate with supers, but in this setting I think we should try and create characters with different powers so that we have a variety.

Oh, does that picture match what you were envisioning, Sin? I thought I would put her in costume, since I am kind of thinking we might be entering a time and place where some of costumed heroes are starting to prowl the streets again.



New Horizons is perfect. I think it makes sense that some costumed heroes are returning to the streets, risking everything in pursuit of justice. The reason being that I think Chicago should have some Super Villains, that are frankly kicking the cop's asses. Naturally RAID will be stepping in to try and contain the situation, but their numbers are limited and they can't be everywhere.

I think we should make Chicago a meta-human battle ground, where people are definitely torn between supporting the Riggs Act and the Vigilante's who are defending the city from Super Villains running rampant.

Does that sound interesting? It provides the opportunity for lots of one on one encounters.

I LIKE That idea, Tiph! I think some equal ability bad guys and gals are needed in the story line. It would balance things out with us as well as allow us an avenue for our aggressions!

Alright. I'm going to make a post in the new topic and advance the story line couple of weeks.

I think the graphic is fine and fits her. I changed Allie's eyes to match the graph. So, if she's approved then she's ready to go.

Sin, I am just going to modify the graphic to match the name and power. Should be done lickedy-split.

I have some dialogue to build up between Bronze Devil and Toril but I think I can manage writing in a two week jump in another large post. I have to deal with Shinnigami as well and develop some contact between Bronze Devil and the Chicago resistance movement.

I might even fabricate a graphic using a Chicago paper to illustrate one of the present Super-Villain threats.

Just write at the pace you want, and I'll try and catch up. No worries.
