| OK, here goes some suggestions I have. Now, bear in mind, this is just my suggestions and opinions.
I LOVE the concept of this story. Here's a couple of things to keep in mind to make it even more believable:
Most dragons are born female with like one in five or six being male. This helps in two ways. 1) It keeps the males from fighting with each other since there are enough females to go around. Bull dragons, with or without riders, will fight another bull for territory when it's mating season and with all that testosterone in the air, it can lead to some nasty fights among the dragons. 2) With the ratio of five or six females to one male helps insure the dragon population will continue to grow at a rate that isn't too fast or too slow.
When you create the rules for this world, make sure you explain the dragons aren't to be so powerful they can't be defeated. Even by other dragons. All creatures, mythical or not, have weaknesses. Be sure you spell out, in no uncertain circumstances, will God-moding with dragons be permitted. While it states so in our site rules, it's imperitive you include it again in this particular thread. It's too easy for someone to think they can come in and be dragon supreme because they are such powerful creatures and have few enemies that CAN defeat them.
While the idea behind the Lizonians taking human females to insure the species is not too far of a stretch, it would mean that eventually they would breed the lizard out of them without having Lizonian females they could breed with. With each generation the Lizonians took human females to breed with they would reduce the Lizonian gene in their DNA and eventually you will end up with all humans once more. I think that particular part needs some more thinking.
With the above in mind, I don't want to see a thread where a main character is constantly abused or has been abused by these creatures and dwells on it all the time. It's OK to mention it in the story, but to make a character strictly on that basis won't fly very well. While it's inevitable to totally omit it from the story, it's not good to dwell on it over and over and over. Remember, we come here to escape reality and write fantastical stories by allowing ourselves to write as strong willed, bright minded characters that aren't push overs.
I like the idea of mostly men being the riders with a few select females being riders while the human females tend to the dragons eggs while they are out doing what ever it is dragons do.
Make sure you create a new topic for character submission so they don't get lost in any conversation or explanation of the land and setting.
This has the potential of being a wonderful story telling thread but I would stray from the "Play-By-Post" role playing style that can infect good story threads.

| Play-By-Post6 is more or less roleplaying without the board in front of you. In other words, instead of doing more story telling you do more action and wait for the next person in line to post to write a response.
In story telling posts, you can take some minor liberties with the other persons character to help move the story along as well as write sme posts that are more than just dialogue between characters. In fact, some posts don't have to have dialogue at all. It can be some back story insight or delving into the emotions and mind of the character you're writing for to give the readers a better understanding of why they are the way they are.

| I have few things to add to RP's assesment. I think the story line has a lot of potential and I too like the concept. It is a very good start to what looks like a promising thread. Keep up the good work. | |

| Excellent. Lac and I may have some that fit very well.
I've already got a character I'm thinking of. A couple actually.
Both of them male. I've never played a male as my main character but I think I will for this thread.

| Cool, I can't wait. Oh by the way, I forgot to put in here. JackRose3 is also a part of the creation of this thread. I just want to make sure that he gets credit too as he should. | |

| I've been making corrections in the intro. Would welcome any and all advice still. Also, is there any way to make sure that Jackrose3 gets partial credit for World of Drakonia. He played an important part in the idea and if this storyline takes off, I want to make sure that he is also known as the author along with myself. | |

| We're all about opening the mind to all sorts of imaginary works! Don't hesitate one bit to write, write and write some more. There's no such thing as a post thtat's too long. THe more meat you give the readers to gnaw on, the more you captivate the audience and give fellow writers to work with. You are doing a fantastic job and I can see your writing evolving in the most wonderful way! sniffs I'm so proud of you right now..... | |
